Bio

Erik Mark Sandberg earned a BFA with distinction from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Sandberg is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at California State University Northridge and has lectured at Art Center College of Design and OTIS College of Art and Design.

Influenced by everyday life in Los Angeles. Sandberg’s work investigates issues around the mechanics of consumer culture and love in the modern-day. His hirsute figures and allegorical narratives incorporate an experimental mix of painting, printmaking, digital processes, and sculpture. For Sandberg, the works create a painterly space of psychological dimensions between the natural environment and the ersatz reality of the digital realm.

His work has been featured in industry publications such as New American Paintings, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, and more.
